HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Traffic on I-95 north and south in Central Virginia is dicey on Sunday afternoon as many folks likely return home from the Thanksgiving holiday.
Here is a look at some of the most congested spots:
I-95 SOUTH CAROLINE COUNTY — An accident at mile marker 104 has closed the interstate’s south left shoulder, left lane, and center lane.
Additionally, another wreck at mile marker 101.5 has closed the interstate’s right shoulder in Caroline County.
I-95 SOUTH HANOVER COUNTY — A disabled vehicle has closed in the interstate’s center lane(just south of Doswell (mile marker 97). The accident had been cleared as of 12:05 p.m., but a six-mile backup remained.
I-95 NORTH HANOVER COUNTY — As of 12:20 p.m., congestion has caused an eight-mile backup in Ashland between mile markers 92 (Ashland) and 100.
I-95 NORTH HENRICO COUNTY — Drivers are warned to expect major delays because of congestion near Virginia Center Commons (mile marker 86.4).That’s where traffic was backed up more than three miles as of 11:41 a.m..
