The backup along I-95 south
PETERSBURG, Va. — A single-vehicle wreck has backed up traffic on I-95 south in Petersburg Saturday evening.
The crash closed the interstate’s southbound lanes just south of Business Route 460 (at mile marker 49 ).
Sgt. Steve Vick with Virginia State Police said a pickup truck ran off the interstate and overturned.
Vick said minor injuries are associated with the wreck.
Crews are working to cleanup some nails and screws that spilled from the truck onto the road.
As of 5:45 p.m., traffic was backed up about two miles. Officials said drivers were able to get past on the right shoulder.
