Quite possibly a first for the Commonwealth, the Richmond Spiders, James Madison Dukes and William & Mary Tribe are in the FCS playoffs in the same year.

Richmond received one of the eight national seeds in this year's postseason after their win Saturday to claim a share of the CAA Regular Season title.  The Spiders got the number seven seed along with a first round bye and a home playoff game a week from this Saturday.

They were one of two CAA teams that got one of the national seeds, the other was JMU.  The Dukes gained the number five seed and a first round bye after also sharing a piece of the Colonial regular season championship.  It's the second straight playoff trip for JMU and one of four conference schools to make the field of 24.  James Madison will face the winner of the New Hampshire-Colgate winner at Bridgeforth Stadium on Saturday December 5th.

The third of the Virginia schools that are in this year's field is William & Mary.  The Tribe return to the postseason for the first time in five seasons with an at-large bid and will host Duquesne this Saturday at Zable Stadium.   W&M could face Richmond a second time in three weeks, the Spiders will host the winner of the Tribe-Dukes first round games on December 5th.
