Richmond, Va. -- The cold air will be replaced by a gradual warming trend this week.  Highs will get back into the 50s Tuesday and Wednesday, and highs will be in the 60s Thursday and Friday.

High pressure will keep fair weather in Virginia and across the region.  There may be a shower or two in the Outer Banks, but that should be about it.

A new storm system will take shape in the interior western United States and push rain into the Plains and Mississippi River Valley up through the Great Lakes on Thanksgiving.  Snow will fall in the Rockies and the northern Plains.  There may be air travel delays in the central USA back into the Rockies on Thanksgiving.

The next system to bring rain locally will arrive next Saturday, followed by colder air to open December.
