RICHMOND, Va. — Donovan, 13, is a healthy young man with a sense of adventure. He is loyal to his friends and family. He enjoys riding his bike and playing video games. Donovan has the ability to quickly learn life’s lessons and re-direct himself. Donovan would like to live in the Roanoke Valley so he can stay close to his mother and his two older siblings. Donovan has the ability to do well in school and tries hard to do so.

Donovan is reticent in being adopted and will need to build trust and confidence in his forever family. Donovan desires a family who is patient, understanding and consistent.

In Virginia, we have over 860 children who are ready for foster to adoption. In other words, these children are ready to find their permanent and loving forever families. As Connecting Hearts -The Deborah J Johnston Foundation celebrates National Adoption Month, our “30 Kids in 30 Days” initiative is to bring awareness to 30 kids who are available for forever homes, but also to shed light on the other 830 children who may not be seen. Our kids are all ages and races, they were put in foster care due to no fault of their own.
