AUSTIN, Texas — A Texas teenager who was found in a parking lot with several cobra bites committed suicide, according to an autopsy report released this week.
An autopsy report obtained by KVUE shows that Grant Thompson, 18, had multiple snakebites on each arm when he was found near a Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Austin back in July.
The bites showed no sign Thompson ever tried to pull away when the snake bit him, according to KVUE. The medical examiner’s office says the position of the bites are consistent with someone letting the snake bite them on purpose.
The cobra’s venom caused paralysis leading to respiratory failure and death.
The report also showed that marijuana and amphetamines were discovered in Thompson’s body.
The snake was found dead a few days after Thompson’s death.
