It wasn’t pretty, but it still counts. Virginia Tech finally capitalized on a late Georgia Tech fumble to come from behind to beat the yellow jackets 23-21 last night and get within 1 win of a 23rd straight bowl appearance.

Trevon McMillan had 135 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns providing most of the offensive spark after the Hokies fell behind 14-0 in the first half. Frank Beamer is now 21-9 all time on Thursday night and a perfect 6-0 against Georgia Tech in those games. The Hokies now need to win 1 of their last two games against either North Carolina or Virginia to be eligible for a bowl game.

The Central Virginia Home School Disciples completed a 10-0 regular season and are now headed to the Home School National semifinals for the fourth straight year, all while practicing anywhere they can find a dry field or floor.

George Wythe senior Maliek White became the first Bulldog in over a decade to sign with a division one basketball program as he inked a national letter of intent with Providence. White averaged over 30 points in last year’s state tournament where he led Wythe to their first ever state championship.
