RICHMOND, Va. — A local cupcakery and an animal shelter have partnered for a promotion that will appeal to your heart and taste buds.
This week the sinfully delicious Carytown Cupcake menu features a Disney villain theme. But today only, your heroic purchase benefits the Richmond Animal League (RAL).
Ten percent of total sales today, Nov. 13, will go to the organization. RAL, located in Chesterfield, has a small staff of eight people, and a mighty army of volunteers. They find homes for thousands of animals a year.
The available cupcakes are Jafar, the Evil Queen’s poison apple, Queen of Hearts, Maleficent and Cruella de Vil.
To go with the Cruella de Vil, which is one of the more popular flavors, is the 101 Dalmatian-themed dog bone (with carob chips). These are always for sale, and 100% of the profits goes to RAL, all the time.
The villain tastes better than she acts; Cruella de Vil is a chocolate chip cream cheese cupcake with vanilla buttercream icing.
The store has also made it fun for shoppers, with villain props around the store. Post a photo of yourself on Instagram with the hashtag #villaintowncupcakes for a chance to win a four-pack of cupcakes.
The shop is open until 8 p.m. today.
