Richmond, Va. -- A series of cold fronts will bring increasingly colder temperatures to the area through much of the weekend.  Temperatures on Saturday morning will be down into the upper 30s to around 40° in Richmond.  These temperature levels are pretty close to normal for this point of November.  High pressure to the west will provide mainly clear skies, but wind speeds may exceed 10 mph before the races finish, creating an additional wind chill.

Highs Saturday will only reach the mid 50s, which will be over five degrees below normal.

The coldest period of this stretch will be Sunday morning.  Skies will be clear and winds will be light, allowing temperatures to tank right around daybreak.  Lows will be in the low to mid 30s in the metro, but our colder outlying areas will drop into the 20s.

This latest bout with colder air will not last long.  Highs will rebound back to around 60° Sunday afternoon.  As that area of high pressure moves east of us, southerly and southwesterly winds will boost temperatures into the mid and upper 60s Monday and Tuesday, and into the 70s Wednesday.
