RICHMOND, Va. — Kailani is a healthy nine-year-old girl with lots of energy. Her smile is very electrifying. She loves to read, which brings her joy and solace. Kalani is very articulate. Moreover, she is very resilient. Kalani is a child who is very aware of her surroundings and is not very trusting of others until she feels comfortable with you.

Kalani does well in school but needs guidance, as does most nine year olds. Kailani is a very loving and affectionate little girl who desires to be nurtured and loved. She says she would like to have both a mommy and a daddy.

In Virginia, we have over 860 children who are ready for foster to adoption. In other words, these children are ready to find their permanent and loving forever families. As Connecting Hearts -The Deborah J Johnston Foundation celebrates National Adoption Month, our “30 Kids in 30 Days” initiative is to bring awareness to 30 kids who are available for forever homes, but also to shed light on the other 830 children who may not be seen. Our kids are all ages and races, they were put in foster care due to no fault of their own.
