BEVERLY, Mass. -- A Massachusetts woman received a huge shock when she went to the hospital for severe abdominal pain and learned that not only was she pregnant, but the baby was on its way.
Judy Brown, 47, and her husband of 22 years, Jason, went to the hospital as the pain continued to get worst. Brown told WCVB she knew something was going on with her body, but she thought it was menopause.
Then the doctor broke the news, "She said, 'It's good news there's no blockage, you are pregnant and you are going to have her now!'"
An hour later Judy and Jason became parents for the first time to Carolyn Rose, a healthy 8-pound baby girl.
Jason said he still can’t believe this is real life.
"I feel I will wake up in the emergency room ...Hey this is only a dream...it felt so real."
Judy said the baby has already become “daddy’s little girl.”
"When she cries I am there," Jason said.
Totally unprepared for their new arrival, the couple borrowed a bassinet and stroller to take the newborn home. They said family and friends are already rushing out to get stuff for them.
The couple said Carolyn will likely be an only child, "I will get the surgery before it even becomes a thought," Jason said jokingly.
