MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota --  A Minnesota man was charged with fifth-degree assault after he attacked a McDonald's manager through the fast food restaurant's drive thru window, according to police. Video of the fight was recorded and later posted on social media. The fight began when the customer grabbed the overnight manager's tie.

"This is a person who may have been under the influence of substances who just became irate with the manager at the restaurant and acted out physically," Minneapolis Police spokesman John Elder said.

The 22-year-old restaurant manager told police the 31-year-old man who attacked him spit on him first. He said he was fighting for his life when as the man pulled his tie so tight - he thought he'd black out.

"If someone's trying to pull you out the window, you're stopping yourself like this, if he would have pulled him onto the ground, he would have hit his face on the ground,"witness Josh McConouhey said. "The guy was like, Come on! He was drunk and he was talking a lot of junk."

As police made their way to the restaurant, the irate man started fighting with other customers, witnesses said.

The restaurant manager was not seriously hurt.
