HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A man and woman wanted after an 88-year-old shopper was robbed outside the Martin’s grocery store on Brook Road were arrested after the crime was reported online and on television. Eric David Moore, 39, of Amelia Courthouse, was charged with grand larceny, credit card fraud, credit card forgery, and robbery. Terry Lynn Ryder, 60, of Ashland, was charged with credit card fraud.

"The Henrico County Police Division would also like to acknowledge our local media outlets and viewers who helped us identify our suspects and bring this investigation to a successful conclusion," Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Chris Eley said.

The pair, police said, used a stolen credit card to buy a television at Target in Short Pump.

The 88-year-old woman said she had just left the grocery store when a man approached her from behind.

"I was putting groceries in my car," she told WTVR CBS 6 reporter Jon Burkett. "He said, ‘Put your head down, put your head down.’ I tried turning around. He reached over my shoulder, and when he saw the purse, he grabbed it and ran off."

She said at first she thought it was a joke, possibly someone that knew her, because she shops almost every day at that Martin’s. But she quickly realized how serious her predicament was.

"I felt him grab my arms from behind me," she said. She said if she had to do it all over again, she would have hit the man with the gallon of milk she just bought.

"I'd like to face him and ask why he did that to me," she said. "I don't know him. I never met him and wouldn't hurt him."

The robbery happened Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at about 4:41 p.m., police said.

Police said other recent crimes may be connected, so they are reaching out to recent victims.

"If they were a victim of something like this, and they've already reported it to the police, contact the officer that took the original report, and just follow up with him, it could be they could, now that we've found suspects and made an arrest, we could potentially tie them together but we have to look at each one over again," said Lt. Chris Eley.
