ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — An exchange between a Florida Starbucks barista and a customer has gone viral after the video of the barista taking the deaf customer’s order using sign language was posted online Tuesday.

Rebecca King, who’s deaf, was stunned when she went to the coffee shop’s drive through Monday and the barista popped up on a video screen and took her order using sign language, according to First Coast News.

The next day the video shows the barista ask King for her order a couple times. After no response, she switched the screen to the live video and took the order by signing with King.

This time King recorded the experience and posted it on her Facebook page. The video of the exchange has over 7,970,000 views and over 211,000 shares and counting.

The barista, Katie Wyble, said she was surprised about the amazing response the video has generated and she is thrilled with the impact it is having.

“I’m glad that there’s more awareness for deaf culture and the deaf community. To see this come to light and actually be a part of it, I feel so blessed,” said Wyble.

King thanked everyone for sharing her post saying, “It means a lot to me and the deaf community!”
