Henrico County Police Animal Shelter offering free pet adoptions to veterans

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter and Ring Dog Rescue are offering veterans free dog and cat adoptions to celebrate their service to America.

They are participating in the “Buddy Up” program, which is offering free pet adoptions to active duty and retired members of the military.

Adoptions start Monday November 9, through Saturday November 15. Each animal adopted will be spayed or neutered and vaccinated for free.

All adoptions will take place at the Henrico County Police Animal Shelter located at 10421 Woodman Road in Glen Allen.

The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. More information, go to the Henrico County Police Animal Shelter website or call 804-727-8801.

Other local pet agencies including, Chesterfield Animal Services, Richmond Animal Care and Control, Goochland Animal Shelter, and Powhatan Animal Control also have free pet adoptions during the week.
