Cheetah cub, puppy go on tour at Metro Richmond Zoo

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va -- In October, The Metro Richmond Zoo introduced the world to Kumbali and Kago -- a cheetah cub and lab mix puppy who have become best friends.  Since then, the duo have become celebrities.

Like any celebrities, they're now going on tour -- in the Metro Richmond Zoo. Kumbali and Kago are visiting the other animals at the zoo, in their exhibits.

On Wednesday, the zoo released video of the two visiting the African Penguins in their exhibit.

Zoo officials said they hoped the video would not only be fun for people to watch, but also be educational and promote conservation.

The two have already met other animals. In October, they met a baby Red River Hog:

If you want to meet Kumbali and Kago, you can see them at Metro Richmond Zoo:

  • Monday through Thursday from noon to 1 p.m
  • Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 1 p.m.
  • Fridays and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
