RICHMOND, Va. — On Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, Shoney’s will offer a free All-American Burger to veterans and troops.
This is Shoney’s way of honoring those who have served the nation or are still in the service, CEO David Davoudpour said in a news release.
“For 68 years, Shoney’s has been an American treasure and has always been a ‘Welcome Home’ sign to America’s military,” Davoudpour said. “It’s one of our favorite days of the year as we get to honor our veterans and troops with a free burger as we thank those who protect our very freedom. Veterans, on your special day, and every day, we salute you.”
Davoudpour has been motivated to promote and revamp the restaurant’s brand since taking his position in 2007. This 68-year-old chain flies a flag at each of its about 150 locations, according to the press release.
Veterans and active duty service members must provide proof of military service and are limited to one burger per person. The offer is only valid for customers dining in, but gratuity and tax are exempt from the offer, according to the press release
