RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond police are asking the community's help to solve the city's latest homicide.
Officers responded to reports of a person lying in the street in the 2500 block of Powell Road around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police found the victim unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police have not released the victim's name and investigators have not made any arrests.
Residents are saddened by gun violence and remember a time when things were different in the neighborhood.

“When I was coming up, might get into a little fight and brush it off and tomorrow you guys are best friends,” said Lamarr Harris, who owns a business in the neighborhood. “But now if you get into a squabble somebody goes and gets a gun and comes and kills you.”
