HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — A Montpelier woman was charged with Reckless Driving in connection to a fatal crash on Mountain Road. Kendra L. Price, 35, is scheduled to appear in Hanover court November 5.
Investigators said Price was responsible for the crash that killed Crystal R. Fix, 33, of Montpelier. Fix was killed Wednesday when her car collided head-on with a Peterbilt Tractor near Dunn Road.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 GMC Yukon [driven by Price] was traveling east on Mountain Road and a 2000 Peterbilt Tractor hauling a 2005 Utility trailer was traveling west on Mountain Road,” Hanover Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Karen Godfrey said. “The GMC Yukon crossed the center line and struck the rear wheel of the Utility trailer. The Peterbilt Tractor and trailer jack-knifed and collided head-on with a 2015 Mazda 4-door sedan [driven by Fix] that was also traveling east on Mountain Road.”
Fix was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Peterbilt Tractor was flown to VCU Medical Center for treatment. The driver and passenger of the Yukon suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
