KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A New Kent woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-car accident on Route 360, east of King William Road, in King William County.

Michelle Lilly, 24, was driving on Route 360 when her car struck a 2006 Nissan Altima in the rear, police said. The impact caused the Altima to run off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The driver of the Altima, Wanda Brown, was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital. Brown, 53, later died from injuries sustained from the crash, police said. Brown was not wearing a seat belt, investigators added.

Lilly, who was also not wearing a seat belt, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
