RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Fire Department battled a house fire on Idlewood Avenue, near South Meadow Street, Wednesday afternoon. Everyone made it out of the home unharmed, Richmond Fire spokesman Lt. Chris Armstrong said.
When fire crews arrived at the home, they saw smoke and flames shooting from the back of the house. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
Fire crews were called to the home at 12:24 p.m. The fire was marked under control in about 10 minutes.
