RICHMOND, Va. -- An approaching storm system will increase southwesterly winds across the area on Friday, boosting temperatures into the low to mid 80s by afternoon. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop along the front late Friday afternoon and evening, with much cooler air moving into the region by Saturday morning.

Rainfall totals should average less than a quarter of an inch, and should end early Saturday morning.
