Clevius C. Apple Jr., 87, killed in Louisa County crash

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. — Police identified the person killed in a Wednesday morning crash in Louisa County as Clevius C. Apple, Jr., 87 of Bumpass.

“A 2004 Lincoln Continental was traveling south on Route 701 (Eastham Road), when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole,” Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said. “The driver of the 2004 Lincoln, Roseanne B. Apple, 77, of Bumpass, Va., was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The front seat passenger, Clevius C. Apple, 87, of Bumpass, Va., died at the scene, they were both wearing seatbelts.”
