CULPEPER COUNTY, Va. — One person was taken into custody after Culpeper County High School officials reported a student with a weapon on a school bus Wednesday morning, according to the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office. Both Culpeper County High School and middle school remain on modified lockdown.

“Dozens of law enforcement from Virginia State Police, Culpeper Police and Sheriff’s office are on scene,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson posted online.

Parents arriving at the school to pick up their children were told to meet in the high school’s auditorium parking lot.

This is a developing story.
