Tree cleared after closing I-64 east near Bottoms Bridge

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. —  I-64 east in New Kent County has reopened after a downed tree closed all lanes of traffic Sunday morning.

VDOT reports the tree fell near mile marker 207, which is about two miles east of Bottoms Bridge.

Initially, crews shut down all lanes of I-64 to remove the tree. The right lane reopened just after 12:30 Sunday afternoon. All lanes were back open by 1 p.m.
