Richmond, Va. -- Joaquin has finally turned to the northeast and picked up forward speed, leaving the Bahamas. Winds have increased from 125 mph back up to 130 mph, making it a category four hurricane again.
The updated forecast from the National Hurricane Center continues to keep the center of Joaquin way off the east coast. There will be some gusty winds and high surf the next few days near the beaches. Dangerous rip currents will continue and beach erosion will be possible.
The spaghetti plot of models now has just about every single model farther east than the previous model runs. This could impact Bermuda over the next few days.
