RICHMOND, Va. — The 2015 UCI Road World Championships came and went and student reporters from VCU’s iPadJournos project were in the middle of it from start to finish. The streets in Richmond as well as surrounding areas were transformed from ordinary travel routes into a world class cycling course. A mixture of hills, cobblestone roads and sharp turns made for an exciting showdown amongst the best cyclist in the world last week.

Fans from all over the globe came to support their countries as local businesses hoped to cash in on such a rare opportunity. And some local groups used the event to protest unresolved hot topic issues.

Revisit the event through some of the best photographs captured by the mobile and social media reporting project at VCU’s Robertson School of Media and Culture, which collaborates with WTVR.com every fall semester.
