FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Interstate 95 north is closed in Spotsylvania County for law enforcement activity near mile marker 124, just before exit 126/Spotsylvania County, according to VDOT.

“Motorists should anticipate significant delays. Travelers are encouraged to use Route 1 northbound as an alternate route,” VDOT said.

Virginia State Police are currently investigating an incident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the 124 mile marker in Spotsylvania County. Northbound traffic is being diverted off at the 118 mile marker (Thornburg exit). Southbound lanes are still open.

Corinne Geller is currently en-route to the scene. Once she arrives on scene and can find a safe location for media we will follow up with another email about where to meet her.

I have no further information or details about the incident at this time. Once we are able to provide more information we will.
