MIDLOTHIAN, Va. -- Zulma Bermudez, the mother of Zulma Pabon could not fight back tears speaking about her daughter.

"You're my baby Zuly, and you know I pray for you everyday," she said.

Pabon has now been missing for over a year. She was last seen in June 2014 after leaving work at Saint Francis Medical Center.

"You want some type of closure no matter what it was but it's part of that fighting battle when you wake up every morning and you don't know where your sister is," said Pabon's sister Yalitza Sopa.

To help keep Pabon's face in the public eye, Help Save the Next Girl hosted an event Saturday in Midlothian to raise awareness for Pabon as well as other missing women in the Central Virginia area. Arianna Davis, Leyla Namaranian and Stephanie "Cherry" Wallace are also still missing.

"We want to find out where they are at, but most importantly we feel that the answers lie here locally and someone here locally has all the answers," said Kenny Jarels of Help Save the Next Girl.

Sopa and other family members drove down from North Caroline for the event.

"You see it on TV all the time, but when you live through it it's completely different so I'm thankful for being here and my parents here and having her close friends here," she said.

Meanwhile, while they continue to wait for answers, Zulma's mother has this message for her beloved daughter.

"I love you Zuly, I wait for you," she said.
