HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The search continues for Hardin Brotherton. The 37-year-old Henrico father of two has not been seen since 11 a..m. Thursday when he walked out of his western Henrico home, his wife Angie said.
Brotherton's car was found crashed on Ashland Road in Rockville, several miles from his home.
There was no sign of Hardin when police found the vehicle, his older sister Lisa Brotherton Pumphrey said.
"We're pretty desperate to find him and know that he his safe," Pumphrey said. "We think he is in a life-threatening situation."
Brotherton, a Collegiate School graduate who works at Cross Over Ministry, seemed okay the last time his wife saw him.
"He was normal yesterday morning. He got up and made pancakes and seemed like he was in a good mood. No arguments or anything like that," Angie Brotherton said. "When I got out of the shower he was gone."
"We're nearly 24 hours with no contact," his sister said. "This is highly unusual."
Wet weather limited Thursday's police search, family members said. Friends and family planned to help police resume the search on Friday.
Pumphrey is asking anyone who sees her brother to call police immediately.
