CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A man is counting his blessings after he hit patch of manure on I-95, spun out and narrowly avoided hitting a tree Friday afternoon in Chester.

The manure spill, which happened just before 12:45 p.m., closed I-95 south near Route 10 for about 20 minutes.

Ryan Dunn told CBS 6 senior reporter Wayne Covil he was using cruise control when he hit the manure, spun out and ran down an embankment.

Troopers credited Dunn's quick thinking and driving skills in avoiding hitting a tree and the VDOT building.

Dunn said the car's air bags deployed during the accident. His car was totaled, but he was not injured.
