Police identify two Richmond men killed in morning Mosby murder

RICHMOND, Va. – Police have identified the murder victims who were killed in double morning shooting in the 2100 block of Accommodation Street, in Richmond’s Mosby Court community.

Around 11:42 a.m. Sept. 9, officers received a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived they found Jawaun L. Hargrove, 33, of the 1700 block of North 19th Street and Anthony D. Addison, 21, of the 2100 block of Accommodation Street, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

They were transported to a local hospital where they died.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Detectives said they are making good progress in the investigation thanks to tips received from the community.

Four Richmond schools were placed on lockdown as a heavy police presence gathered in the neighborhood.
Woodville Elementary School, Fairfield Court Elementary School, Martin Luther King Jr Middle School and Armstrong High School were placed under lockdown as a precaution. That lockdown was lifted by 1 p.m., Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham said.

Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.

Anger erupted as news ripped through the neighborhood. The whole disaster was seen by children too young for school, but learning the hard lessons of the housing projects.

Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham said there have been nine slayings in public housing this year, and that's not counting the ones nearby or the scores of non-fatal shootings.
