MINNESOTA — The Minnesota dentist who killed the famed lion known as “Cecil,” said he’s ready to get back to work.

Walter Palmer did in a joint interview Sunday with the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the Associated Press.

He told them he plans to reopen his dental practice in Bloomington on Tuesday.

Palmer is quoted as saying: “I’m a health professional. I need to get back to my staff and my patients, and they want me back. That’s why I’m back.”

Palmer killed the lion in July during a hunt in Zimbabwe, and has taken a lot of criticism from across the globe for it.

He insists the hunt was legal in Africa and that he and the others in his party had no idea the lion was a known, local favorite.

Walter has not been charged with any crime.

As for where he has been all this time?

Palmer said he wasn’t in hiding and was “out of the public eye seeing family and friends.”
