Henrico man busted driving stolen vehicle near Willey Bridge

HENRICO, Va. -- A Henrico man was charged with several crimes after police discovered he was driving a stolen vehicle near the Willey Bridge Friday night.

"Police observed Thomas Newby in the stolen vehicle while conducting a DUI checkpoint,"Henrico Police Lt. Scott Kubicki said.  "Newby fled the scene in the car, but was caught by police a short time later. Nobody was hurt during the arrest."

Newby was charged with possession of stolen property, eluding police and driving offenses.
