ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — Police looking for a missing woman on Carter’s Mountain found her Thursday morning. Debra Marie German, 59, took a taxi to the mountain Wednesday afternoon from Azalea Park in Charlottesville. She was reported missing late Wednesday night.

“Two Albemarle Police Department officers searching on ATVs just located Ms. German on Carter’s Mountain. Her condition is unknown at this time,” Albemarle Police spokeswoman Carter Johnson said.

Earlier Johnson said police did not suspect foul play.

Police described German as a white female, 5’4” tall and 100 pounds. She has long brown hair and hazel eyes.

“The Albemarle Police Department, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Department Search Team and a bloodhound from Louisa County, is actively searching for Ms. German,” Johnson said prior to Ms. German’s discovery. “We have ATVs to help search the rugged terrain.”
