Anthem Moonlight Ride, in honor of the UCI Bike Race this year’s popular Anthem Moonlight Ride’s theme is Stars & Stripes. Put on your best patriotic costume and you could win a World Championships prize pack. The ride Full Moon (15-mile) and Half Moon (8-mile) course options begins and ends at Sports Backers Stadium, 100 Avenue of Champions with waves starting at 8pm.  Bikes are encouraged to be decorated with glow in the dark lights. 9th annual “We Care Festival” Sunday, August 23rd, 10am – 3pm at Hotchkiss Community Center, 701 East Brookland Park Boulevard. event includes health and wellness screenings, educational information, school supply  give-aways, basketball clinic, exhibits, food vendors and more. The event is free and open to the public, call 804-321-5115.  We Care Festival is sponsored by Fifth Street Baptist Church & Marks & Harrison, Anthem and others.

Pedal into The Dome for a special all-live Cosmic Expedition taking off at 6:30 pm, then stick around for a showing of The Wizard of Oz at 8 pm. Richmond Music Lover’s Group presents A Hindustani Classical Music Program, A Sitar Concert by Surmani Anupama Bhagwat one of the most outstanding Sitarists of the current generation, a leading disciple of Pandit Bimalendu Mukherjee. She is a versatile performer and embodies the essence of the Imdadkhani Gharana, accompanied by a brilliant young tabla player Shri Mihir Kallianpur, who has accompanied such stalwarts as Ustad Shahid Parvez. He is a disciple of Ustad Shabbir Nisar of Hyderabad, the son of legendary Tabla Nawaz Shaik Dawood Khan Sahab. The concert is at 6:30 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 1101 Forest Ave., Richmond. “We Stand Out Girls” Conference, “Be Inspired to Love” the 2015 theme, August 20th-22nd, at Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, North Chesterfield. The three-day event will be full of fun activities including a talk show, fashion show, guest speakers, games, giveaways, and live hair and make-up demonstrations.
