HANOVER COUNTY, Va. — Authorities said one lane of Mountain Road has reopened after a semi hauling trash ran off the road near Stone Horse Creek Road and overturned Thursday morning.

“The driver, Joseph D. Hansen III, 30, of Mineral, VA, was charged with Reckless Driving and Operating an Unsafe Commercial Motor Vehicle. There were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved in the crash,” Hanover County Sheriff’s spokesman Major Mike Trice said.

Drivers are warned to expect delays and use an alternate route if possible.

As of 3:15 p.m., traffic was down to one lane and VDOT flaggers were directing traffic as crews cleaned up the mess.

“Please reduce your speed if you are traveling through the area, stay alert and expect delays,” Trice warned.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office provided the following detour map for drivers.
