Drive-by shooting in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY — Three people have been killed and four others wounded following a drive-by shooting in Rochester, New York, Wednesday night near the city’s Boys and Girls Club.

WROC reports seven people were shot Wednesday shortly before midnight as a basketball game was letting out at the boys and girls club on Genesee Street.

Two of the victims died at the scene.  The other victim died at the hospital. The remaining four hospitalized victims have non-life threatening injuries.

The police chief called it a “drive-by type shooting.”

Police do not think the shooting was related to the game and may be gang-related.

By Thursday afternoon, police had not released a description of the suspect or the car. Police have said that they think more than one person when the shots were fired.
