CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – The Chesterfield County Fire Department battled an apartment fire at the Colonial Ridge Apartments. The call came in around noon for a report of an apartment fire in the 2700 block of Martingale Road, according to Chesterfield Fire spokesman Lt. Jason Elmore. The fire was contained to one apartment, but smoke spread to two other apartments, he said.

No one was hurt in the fire. Chesterfield Fire is working with apartment management and the American Red Cross to provide help to those who may be displaced.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
