Ways to Save SignageSALISBURY, N.C. -- Grocery store chain Food Lion announced Monday that the company is lowering prices on some of the everyday items people buy. The announcement comes just weeks after the company said it's merging with Martin's.

Prices will be reduced on things like apple juice, peanut butter, frozen vegetables, canned beans and household items like paper towels, detergent and more. The products were chosen for price reduction after "extensive research of frequently purchased items," according to a press release.

"Today's announcement is not only about making grocery shopping more affordable for our customers, but also making it easier, as we have redesigned our in-store signage so customers can easily identify savings throughout the store," said Meg Ham, the president of Food Lion.
