HENRICO, Va. -- When some West End neighbors saw Henrico police roaming their apartment complex, this week they wondered what was happening.

Francisco Dominguez says he noticed officers knocking on people's doors.

Lt Chris Eley says a recent rash of peeping tom incidents prompted them to step up patrols.

He says there were three reported incidents since June 29, in and around the Hungary Spring/Broad Street area.

In the wee hours of Tuesday morning Eley says officers witnessed 20-year-old Saevone Brown spying on three unsuspecting victims along Shadowood Court.

"We approached him, identified who he was and we arrested him on three counts of peeping," Eley explained.

Neighbor Diana Bello says the news is pretty unnerving.

"We used to leave our doors unlocked and our blinds open because we felt it was a nice neighborhood. Now that this happened, it makes me feel like I need to close everything,” Bello added.

One victim at another nearby townhome complex emailed CBS 6 News.

She said on June 29th she was scared when a man peeped into her home and tried to get in through the patio door.

She says when the man knocked she noticed he was exposing himself so she quickly closed the curtains and called police.

In a statement she said, "It's a shame when you have to feel scared and violated in your own home and when you have to think twice about being outdoors in the summer time."

Now Henrico police say they're doing all they can to see if all the cases are related and if other victims are out there.

If you believe you are a victim in any of these cases, contact police at 501-5000.

Brown, who was given a court-appointed attorney Tuesday, is due back in court August 27th.

He's being held in the Henrico County Jail without bond.
