Richmond Montessori fifth grader to perform at Carnegie Hall

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A rising fifth-grade student at Richmond Montessori School, was selected as a winner in her age division for the 2015 American Protege International Vocal Competition. Ten-year-old Margaret Parrino beat out talented musicians from all across the globe for the opportunity.

Margaret studies music at Richmond Montessori School and voice privately at the Academy of Music.  In addition to Margaret, four students from the Academy of Music won their age divisions on a variety of instruments and will perform at Carnegie Hall.

Carnegie Hall in New York City is considered one of the most prestigious venues in the world for both classical and popular music. Margaret will make her Carnegie Hall debut on Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m.
