Missing and endangered child Hayleigh Wilson last seen in Virginia

HAYLEIGH COLLAGESMYTH COUNTY, Va. — A 14-year-old girl considered missing and endangered was last seen in Virginia, according to Virginia State Police. Hayleigh Cheyenne Wilson, of Tennessee, is believed to be with 41-year-old Benjamin Joseph Shook, a known sex offender.

Originally from Georgia, Shook has a long criminal history, including sexual battery and exploitation. He served 10 years in prison and was released in September 2014. Police say he registered once as a sex offender, but did not update his information afterward.

“The child is believed to be in danger and was last seen in Smyth County, Virginia,” State Police said. “The vehicle they were in was recovered in Grayson County, Virginia, and they are now on foot.”

Wilson was described by police as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds. She has hazel eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black and white flowery top and black shorts.

Shook was described by police as 6 feet 3 inches tall and 175 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, black shorts, and a camouflage ball cap.
