EMPORIA, Va. – Several units responded to a fire at the Georgia-Pacific plywood plant in Emporia on Tuesday evening.
Employees at the plant said that the fire originated with the number two lathe. Everyone got out of the plant safely according to the witnesses.

Fire Departments from Emporia and Lawrenceville responded.
Georgia-Pacific had no comment.
