Artifacts Roadshow – Summer Edition, Saturday, June 13, 10am – 12:30pm at the Virginia War Memorial, 621 South Belvidere Street. Bring personal Military Memorabilia for free expert review. Upward Bound Program, June 17- July 24. – areas served are: the cities of Petersburg, Hopewell and the counties of Dinwiddie, Greensville, Surry, Sussex and the Matoaca District of Chesterfield. The Upward Bound program is year – round with participants attending Saturday sessions during the Academic Component (September – May) and five or six weeks for the Summer Residential Component. Marine Corps Basketball Camp, Inaugural Leaders Of The Hardwood Skills Academy in Richmond Saturday, June 20 at U-turn Sports, 2013 Maywill Street. The free high school basketball camp features quality instruction from nationally and internationally recognized basketball coaches and former players. With basketball drills also come life lessons taught by the Marine Corps. The true intent of the programs is to teach the importance of leadership, both on and off the court. RTD Savor Virginia/Sweet Virginia, Saturday, June 20, Noon-8pm, on Brown’s Island, Richmond. Sip, sample and savor some of the best locally made foods, sauces, spices, mixes, specialty goodies, wines, craft beers, and more.
