Stephanie Rochon memorial fund to benefit The Ellen Shaw de Paredes Breast Cancer Foundation

Posted

UPDATE: Those who would like to honor the memory of Stephanie Rochon may make gifts to Reach Out for Life for the operation of the Free Mammography Outreach Program that Stephanie chaired. The Free Mammography Outreach Program provides access to breast health procedures for lower income and underinsured patients to make the early detection of breast cancers a possibility for everyone.

RICHMOND, Va. -- People who would like to honor the memory of late WTVR CBS 6 anchor Stephanie Rochon can do so by donating to a cause she held dear. Instead of flowers, Stephanie's family has asked memorial contributions to be made to The Ellen Shaw de Paredes Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Ellen Shaw de Paredes Breast Cancer Foundation is committed to the early detection of breast cancer through education, research and care for the underserved.

The Foundation supports a free screening mammogram program for underserved women which also contributes to our mission of saving lives through the early detection of breast cancer.

In her life, Stephanie served on the foundation's Board of Directors and did extensive work with the organization and breast cancer awareness. Stephanie's final WTVR Facebook post, in August 2014, honored the passing of Dr. Ellen Shaw de Paredes.

The Foundation will make sure donations made in Stephanie's honor go directly to the free mammogram outreach program -- one of Stephanie’s projects.
