Car slams into school bus on Richmond’s Southside

RICHMOND, Va. – There are no injuries after a crash involving a school bus and a car Friday morning on Richmond's Southside.

Officials said the wreck happened before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Jeff Davis Highway and Hardwood Street.

That's not far from Oak Grove-Bellemeade Elementary School.

RPS officials said one student was on the bus at the time of the accident. Neither that student nor the driver of the bus were injured.

There has been no word yet about the driver of the sedan.

While there has been no official word yet from Richmond police, photos show the sedan has extensive damage to its front-end. The school bus shows damage to the rear, right side of vehicle and back bumper.
