May 2015 finished Sunday evening, capping off a month that was over 5° above normal.  About three-quarters of the days had highs and lows above normal, and was the sixth warmest on record (since 1880).  Four days produced highs of 90° or higher.

May was also a dry month for the Richmond metro area, with only six days in the month receiving rainfall higher than a trace.  The heaviest rainfall was 0.97″ on May 21.  The monthly total fell over two inches below normal.

The outlook for Junecontinues the warmer-than-normal trend, but shows the potential for above-normal rainfall.
