SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — A 31-year-old woman died early Friday after falling 36-feet from an attraction at the San Bernardino County Fair. Sabrina Gordon was on top of the FreeDrop USA attraction Thursday when she fell to the ground, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department. The woman died around 12:20 a.m. Friday, the department stated, according to KTLA.
Gordon was set to jump from the 36-foot high attraction around 8 p.m. Thursday when she appeared to change her mind, grabbed a sidebar, and fell, according to Victor Valley News . The newspaper reported an employee attempted to grab the woman, but she fell, landing on the front side of her body.
FreeDrop USA made its California debut at the fair in May. Promoters boasted it offered a “pure free fall,” without a bungee chord, harness or wires. Video on the company’s website shows participants jumping from a platform and landing on an inflatable air bag.
An autopsy is expected to determine the woman’s cause of death.
