CHICKASHA, Okla. -- A disc jockey in Oklahoma got a big surprise as he was walking to work over the weekend.

Tim Malone, who has been a DJ at Skateland for 20 years, said he was a bit distracted by his Android smartphone as he walking through the parking lot over the weekend, according to KOCO.

Surveillance video documents the cringe-worthy moment when Malone approaches the building and jumps after he realizes he just stepped on a snake.

In response, the four-foot bull snake sunk its teeth into his Malone’s leg before slithering away.

"Adrenaline took over. And then I realized it was a snake and I started kicking. Get it off," Malone said. “There's just those two little marks right there."

Malone helped release the non-venomous snake back into the wild. He thinks the reptile was trying to escape recent floodwaters.
